The Only Field Testable System

Most pressure relief apparatus or blow out panels, as they are called, can’t be field tested. And you’ll never know if they’ll work until after an actual catastrophic occurrence. But, Explovent® is precisely calibrated at the factory for release at specific design pressures. Explovent may be field tested at any time as part of an ongoing ­­­safety program.

  • Before an explosion: Explovent’s FM approved patented release mechanism is factory calibrated for release at very low pressures to react quickly to pressure build-up, yet keeps panels closed until an event occurs.
  • During an explosion: An explosion vent is designed to be the weakest part of external structure. When Explovent panels are subjected to pressure rise from an explosion, it opens quickly allowing the rapidly expanding heated gases to be released to the outside.
  • After an explosion: Explovent’s hold open device prevents the panels from closing in order to minimize implosive forces. Panels can be returned to a fully closed position either manually or through operators.
